The most common way for a thief to enter a house is picking locks. It is imperative that the exterior doors have secure locks to deter burglars. Door locks provide the first line of safety for a house. Locks ensure the safety of the family members and security of personal property inside the house.
A strong quality door lock will not open easily. There are different types of door locks in the market such as deadbolts, padlocks, spring latch as well as high security locks such as electronic locks and code locks.
According to Lucas Shearer, owner of Citywide Locksmith said, "We are seeing a change in the demand for locksmith services. Earlier, it was about sturdy door locks but now people want a high security locks at doors, surveillance cameras at entry points and even a sophisticated lock system at the gates. People are investing in bigger houses, are becoming more conscious of their safety and want the best security system available in the market. At Citywide Locksmith, we sell high security locks to suit the requirements of the customers. We give them the best of the products and residential locksmith services."
Choosing locks for your home
Deadbolts and padlocks are the most commonly used locks. They are easily to install as the bolt locks the door to the frame. Padlocks are portable and are used to lock gates. Deadbolts are best for interior doors such as closets and bedroom doors.
Spring latch or slip bolt locks offer the least security to homes. They are easy to install and very economical. The latch is pocketed to the doorframe. However, spring latch are better used for bathroom than main door.
High-security locks are available with the option of instant alarms. A silent alarm will alert the nearest police station when an intruder tries to break into the house. If it is a mansion, then a better locking system should be installed.
Established in 1962, CityWide Locksmiths Limited began as mobile locksmith company in Toronto. Harold Shearer founded the company with the aim of exploring this untapped locksmith industry. The company is now a brand in providing certified locksmith services.
