(NYSE: UAL), the parent company of United Air Lines and Continental Airlines, is marginally higher in mid-day trading today, extending its gains for the week. UAL is currently trading 0.52% higher at $23.18 on volume of 1.40 million. The stock has gained more than 13% for the week.
UAL has been gaining momentum after the company earlier this week reported its November operational performance. The company’s consolidated traffic (revenue passenger miles) fell 2.3% in November, while consolidated capacity (available seat miles) fell 2.6% in November. On Thursday, UAL also named Jeff Smisek as Chairman.
UAL has broken through $21 resistance level as a result of the rally this week. Technical indicators are pointing to further gains.
