Stocks opened on mixed footing Thursday as jobs and retail sales data were mixed, and investors digested a raft of international banking news. The S&P 500 kept a fractional gain, aided by Best Buy's (BBY) gap-up move. The Nasdaq and the Dow Jones industrial average traded narrowly in the red.
