Stocks Ramp Up In Big Volume, Nasdaq Retakes 50-day Line
Stocks rallied Tuesday, but gave up some gains late in the session after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that a deal over the fiscal cliff will be unlikely before Christmas. The Nasdaq trimmed a 1.5% gain to 1.2%. But it closed above resistance at its 50-day line. Big caps Apple (AAPL), Google (GOOG) and Amazon.com (AMZN) helped the tech-heavy index outperform.
