APP OF THE WEEK: 'Writer Rumble' In a nutshell: Boggle and Scrabble meet literary "Street Fighter." Cool factor: "Writer Rumble" is a delightful spin on classic word games. In single-player mode, the player attacks waves of ghastly creatures by spelling words with letter tiles of varying value. Multiplayer (local or online) is the highlight. It's intense, pitting two classic literary writers in wordy throwdowns. Note: "Writer Rumble" is a 99-cent iOS app. You need an iPad 2 or newer for a better experience. As a video gamer who hardly reads system requirements, "Writer Rumble" lags and crashes on my first-generation iPad. But it's addictive!
