Santiago, Chile, December 7, 2012- LATAM Airlines Group S.A. and its subsidiaries, ("LATAM Airlines Group" or "the Company") (NYSE: LFL / IPSA: LAN / Bovespa: LATM11), the leading airline group in Latin America, today reported its preliminary monthly traffic statistics for November 2012 compared to November 2011.
System passenger traffic increased 10.1% as capacity rose 6.5%. As a result, the Company`s load factor for the month increased 2.5 points to 76.9%. International passenger traffic accounted for approximately 50% of the month`s total passenger traffic.
Domestic passenger traffic in LATAM Airlines Group`s Spanish speaking operations (Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia) rose 10.7%, as capacity increased 14.9%. As a consequence, the domestic passenger load factor decreased 2.9 points to 76.6%.
Domestic passenger traffic in Brazil rose 14.7%, as capacity decreased 5.2%. As a consequence, the domestic Brazil passenger load factor increased 14.0 points to 80.7%.
International passenger traffic rose 6.9%, while capacity increased 13.4%. Accordingly, the international passenger load factor for the month decreased 4.5 points to 74.5%. International traffic includes international operations of both LAN and TAM on regional and long haul routes.
Cargo traffic for LATAM Airlines Group decreased 3.7% as capacity increased 3.1%. As a consequence, the cargo load factor decreased 4.3 points to 60.5%. The decrease in traffic continues to be driven by weaker imports into Latin America, especially Brazil.
