Genesco Profit Beats, But Q4 Off To Slow Start
Shares of shoe and headgear retailer Genesco (GCO) tumbled after the company said early Friday that third-quarter profit surged 56%, but noted sales in the crucial fourth quarter are off to a slow start. Genesco, which operates more than 2,440 Journeys shoe stores and Lids Sports hat and sports clothing stores, said Q3 earnings per share rose 19% to $1.44, beating analyst estimates by 11 cents.
