On September 17, The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee will be host to a group of the world's most renowned scientists and researchers in the field of wildlife protection and animal welfare.
The group includes elephant behaviorist Dr. Joyce Poole who is currently Research Director of the Amboseli Elephant Research Project in southern Kenya, and previously headed the Elephant Program at the Kenya Wildlife Service where she was responsible for elephant conservation and management throughout the country.
Also visiting will be Will Travers, Executive Director of Born Free UK, Adam Roberts from Born Free USA, and Rob Atkinson, Head of Wildlife, Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Several current and retired zoo professionals from Australia and the United States will also be in attendance, as well as representatives from The Animal Protection Institute, and In Defense of Animals.
