Irvine, CA - November 14, 2012 - The International Society for Children with Cancer, which helps provide care, funding and support to make a difference in the lives of cancer-stricken children, adolescents and their families, held the most successful ISCC Annual Gala fundraiser to date last week at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Irvine, California.
This important fundraiser, which was sold out weeks before the event, was much more than simply a way to donate to a cancer charity. It was a great galvanizing and emotional affair that brought a vast variety of members from the community together.
The ISCC Annual Gala offered a wonderful entertainment selection that featured the extraordinary singer and songwriter, Rana, as well as Persian pop music star Martik. Founder of MAHAK Hospital, Dr. Javad Karbasizadeh, and several key guest speakers at the event, provided lively and pertinent discussion about the importance of the international cancer society, as well as ways to support children with cancer independently and through the organization.
Towards the end of the spectacular gala, a silent auction, which featured outstanding goods and services from local merchants, raised substantial funding that helped ISCC reach its annual budget. Ultimately, the organization brought in thousands of dollars over the half million dollars raised at last year’s event to cure kids with cancer. ISCC beat their solid goal in 2012 to find sponsors to support over 250 children with cancer.
The event was created with the help of many volunteers.
