NEED TO BE SEEN BY THE MEDIA? GUESTMATCH.COM IS THE "LINKED IN" FOR EXPERT SOURCES
Washington, DC (PRBuzz.com) November 19, 2012 -- Let's say you're a newspaper journalist on a tight deadline that needs an expert source to complete his story, or a television reporter who has to get a sound byte from someone with specific knowledge of a certain topic in time for the late evening news. Maybe you're a radio talk show host looking for a guest who you can call on to fill in your audience in on the latest hot topic. Where would you look?
GuestMatch.com might be the answer. The online database of expert sources is sort of a "Linked In" for media savvy guests who are available on short notice to offer analysis, opinion and insight for television, radio, print and online outlets.
GuestMatch.com is a joint venture of Washington, DC media, marketing and public relations firm Allen Media Strategies and Austin TX based SpeakerMatch.com, celebrating its 10th anniversary as the world's largest online speakers bureau.
"As a guy who came out of radio and television, I know that it's always been a struggle to find experts on short notice when there is a breaking story. That's why we've designed GuestMatch.com almost like an electronic rolodex, easily updatable by the media source, and completely sortable by subject matter for the journalist", says GuestMatch.com's Chief Media Strategist Burke Allen. Allen and his team are responsible for vetting GuestMatch members and helping them maximize their electronic media kits with photos journalists can download, audio and video samples for TV and radio stations to review and even sample questions for potential interviewers. He also offers media training tips and advice for media sources upon request to insure their interviews go off as planned.
"We realized pretty early on that most of the speakers we represent have a wealth of knowledge in their individual area of expertise, so making them easily available to media outlets seemed like a logical next step," said Bryan Caplovitz, the Chief Technical Officer of GuestMatch. "For us, the real key was to make GuestMatch super easy to utilize for both the media outlet looking for a guest expert, and the experts themselves, who need to be able to quickly and easily update their profiles with the freshest information available".
"In today's world, many people have a Facebook profile for friends and family, a Twitter feed, a Linked In profile for business and many even have their own website. By adding a GuestMatch profile targeted to media professionals needs, these folks can easily be sourced and that exposure in the media can be a real business boon for them. We also do a lot of search engine optimization work on our GuestMatch member profiles, so their electronic press kit is often the first thing that comes up in a Google search. It's a win-win for both the media outlet and the guest expert", said Allen.
