The Future of Entrepreneurship seminar published the Company and Business Manager awards for 2012 on Monday. The jury awarded Managing Director Reijo Karppinen and Blancco Oy Ltd., respectively.
Reijo Karppinen (b.1958) is Managing Director of Dynaset Oy operating from Ylöjärvi, Finland. Dynaset is one of the world`s leading manufacturers of hydraulic equipment. An innovative growth company with increasing international operations, the company has reached record-high profitability figures for years. The company`s net sales for 2011 totalled EUR 13.1 million, with exports to over 50 countries accounting for 75 per cent.
The jury says that Dynaset led by Mr Karppinen is an innovative hydraulics pioneer that has created its own products. The company is successful thanks to its motivated and committed employees, with emphasis being put on their wellbeing and work satisfaction. Karppinen is a man with powerful entrepreneurial spirit, and his long-term and visionary management style has brought the company success during its 26 years of existence.
Blancco Oy Ltd.
Blancco, operating from Joensuu, Finland, is the global market leader in data erasure and computer recycling. Established in 1997, it has been growing in the last three years at a rate of 35 per cent. The company has been seeking growth from international markets, and currently 95 per cent of its net sales are derived from abroad.
According to the jury, Blancco`s strengths are their clear focus and innovative business model combining growth, entrepreneurship and customer-oriented approach. Blancco`s ambitious growth target has been to double its size every three years.
Future of Entrepreneurship
Organised jointly by OP-Pohjola Group and Kauppalehti, the "Future of Entrepreneurship" seminar focuses on the outlook for SMEs and influential business players. The seminar is participated in by hundreds of small and medium-sized companies and business managers from around Finland. The competitions are run by Kauppalehti/Balance Consulting, and the award winners are chosen by a jointly appointed jury. Speakers at the seminar include state and business representatives, business executives and entrepreneurs.
