Studies find hCG May Be Highly Effective for Weight Loss reports hCGDiet101
(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 18, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- The concept of the hCG diet is not new, but too many it may seem to be given it is the latest fad craze among those attempting to find weight-control nirvana.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, which is known as the hormone of pregnancy became a dieting solution in the 1950s. Dr. Albert T.W. Simeons of the Salvatore Mundi International Hospital in Rome published Pounds and Inches, which described efficacy of hCG as a weight loss supplement when utilized alongside a restrictive diet.

In the mid-century, the diet gained little tractions and fell to the wayside with many other dieting finds in the 1960s. hCG did find its way back into the mainstreams eye in 2007, when a famous infomercial marketer touted it a revolutionary weight-loss change. Currently, it would be tough to avoid the siting of a billboard, radio or TV commercial, or internet ad heralding the hormone as the new key to weight loss.

The trouble is that hCG has yet to be approved by the FDA for use in weight loss, as it was developed to treat infertility in women. The FTC enforced regulations on advertising, and doctors are no longer allowed to advertise the hormone for weight loss.

There is considerable controversy on hCG, which stems from the heavy caloric restrictions that must accompany the use. But the constant interest for individuals to lose weight quickly had created a continual push for the hormone to be accepted by regulating committees.

According to Dr. Simeons, hCG is capable of resetting the hypothalamus, changing the way the body burns fat. His research noted three types of fat in the body. There is structural fat, which fills caps to create organ protection. There is reserve fat, utilized by the body as nutrition as well as fuel for muscles and to regulate body temperature. Finally, there is abnormal fat, which is used as nutritional reserves.

Simeons worked lead him to suspect hCG unlocks the ability to burn trapped fat. Dieters supplement hCG with a 500-calorie diet and feel almost no hunger pangs due to the body living off the calories trapped in the fat. Such dieting is only advisable for a four or seven week regiment.

It has appeared to be the case that patients on the diet, always under dedicated physician oversight, not only benefited from weight loss, but also a reduced number of markers for disease. Some patients even found a lack of necessity for particular medications after treatments.

While hCG has shown great promise in weight-management capabilities, the opponents of the quick turn to the hormone is the lack of long-term effects. It is also necessity to partake in the treatments under the guidance of a physician.
