Chicago Closets by Design to Gift $25,000 Home Organization Project to One Deserving Homeowner

CHICAGO, Nov. 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hoping to spread Holiday cheer and transform a Chicagoland home, Closets by Design announced its first annual "Holidays by Design" contest. From Sunday, Nov. 18 through Monday, Nov. 26, residents within the Chicagoland area can enter for a chance to win a $25,000 home organization project by submitting their story at www.chicagotribune.com/holidaysbydesign using the code HBD2012. The winner will be chosen on Nov. 28.

"Each day, our designers and installers transform our clients' living spaces, so when we sat down to decide how we wanted to give back this holiday season, we decided to do what we do best – bring organization and beauty to a local home," said Brian Berendsen, co-owner of the Chicago Closest by Design. "With a project of this value, there's potential to effectively transform multiple spaces in a home. We want to make improvements that can really impact the lives of those who might not otherwise have the means to bring custom organization into their home."

Berendsen said there are no specific requirements but in order to be considered, contestants must have a garage, submit pictures and explain how the home organization project will change their life. The $25,000 prize can be applied to any project Closets by Design offers – from a home office to a garage to a laundry/mud room. Once the winner of the "Holidays by Design" contest is chosen, he or she will work with Berendsen and his team to create a custom design for the room(s) submitted. The project will commence on Dec. 17 and ideally be completed and revealed to the homeowner on Dec. 20.

Closets by Design has built a reputation as the nation's leader in the closet organizing and storage remodeling industry. Berendsen became co-owner of the Chicago Closets by Design in Jan. of 2012. Previously, he owned Closets by Design franchise locations in Cleveland and Columbus. While this is the first contest of this magnitude for the Chicago franchise, Berendsen and his co-owner, William Taylor, regularly participate in charitable efforts through Habitat for Humanity, the Children's Hospital and more.
