(PRBuzz.com) November 16, 2012 -- Kickstarter fundraising platform launched for filmmakers after a stay at an eerie motel inspires the "Bottom of the World" movie.
When director Richard Sears checked in for the night at the El Rancho Motel, he had no idea that it would become the inspiration for his latest project with producer Jeff Graup. The beyond creepy visit at the notorious motel inspired the idea for "Bottom of the World", a contemporary psychological thriller that takes place in the New Mexico desert. Because of the mind-bending experience at El Rancho Motel, "Bottom of the World" will be thought-provoking and mysterious. The team plans to begin shooting in the spring of 2013, but needs the help from contributors via Kickstarter.
The team decided to take their fundraising beyond the financing they have already secured and into the world of crowdfunding by launching a Kickstarter project page. They feel confident they will be able to reach their goals and make their movie one that will leave viewers thinking about it for days after they finished watching. Kickstarter funding means that the creative integrity for the film will still be in place as the film is to be financed by the future audience instead of studio executives. Staying in touch with what viewers want and expect is important to Sears and Graup, and they hope many will check out their teaser video available on the Kickstarter page for "Bottom of the World".
Award-winning Sears and accredited Graup are happy to present their newest brain-child to mystery and thriller film fans everywhere. By contributing to their Kickstarter project, backers can receive a wide array of rewards, including helping them make casting decisions and a copy of the Blu-Ray or DVD of the end result. For more information on the ground-breaking project, people can contact the team on Twitter @BOTWmovie or via their Facebook page.
