Stocks Reverse To Modest Gain; Apple Pares Its Loss
Stocks showed modest gains in early-afternoon action Friday, erasing morning losses after congressional leaders sounded upbeat about avoiding the fiscal cliff. The Nasdaq rose 0.4%, the S&P 500 0.2% and the Dow Jones industrial average 0.1%. Volume was tracking higher from Thursday's levels across the board.
