Qualcomm Sees China Mobile iPhone 5 Launch Delay
Don't look for Apple's (AAPL) iPhone 5 to launch at China Mobile (CHL) in the first half of 2013. So says Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, who's view is shaped by chipmaker Qualcomm's (QCOM)commentary at its annual analyst day held on Thursday. China Mobile needs Qualcomm to develop chips that support its wireless network, which uses home-grown TD-SCDMA technology. "(Qualcomm's) roadmap suggests no iPhone 5 at China Mobile in H1 2013," Misek wrote.
