A doorbuster is a sales and marketing strategy used to attract a high volume of costumers into a retailer. A particular item is offered at a special discount for a limited time, or in a limited quantity, in order to get people "in the door." The strategy is typically used on "Black Friday," the day after Thanksgiving, to kick off the holiday shopping season.
