PR Log - Nov 15, 2012 - Beaverton, Ore. -- EasyStreet® Online Services Inc. President & CEO, Rich Bader, was named Outstanding Telecommunications Advocate at the 2012 Oregon Connections Telecommunications Conference held at Hood River in October. Each year the Conference presents this award to the individual who has made a significant contribution or gone beyond the call of duty to advocate for improved access, reliability and affordability of telecommunications.
The annual Oregon Connections Telecommunications Conference (http://www.oregonconnections.info) draws attendees from all regions of the state to share ideas, experiences and knowledge about telecommunications. The theme of his year’s Conference was, “The Broadband Ecosystem: Living with the Cloud,” and focused on how broadband access to IP networks plus applications and services available in the cloud are impacting individuals, organizations and society.
The 2012 Conference honored individuals and organizations that have positively impacted telecommunications development in Oregon in six categories: applications, projects, partnerships, legislation, advocacy and enduring achievement.
Following is a transcript from the speech given by Master of Ceremonies, John Irwin, as he presented the 2012 Outstanding Telecommunications Advocate award to Mr. Bader:
Rich has been around for some time, but not long enough! You’ve seen him more than once on panels here at Oregon Connections. The list of his contributions is long. Rich serves on the Oregon Broadband Advisory Council, he is on the board and executive committee of the Software (now Technology) Association of Oregon, and he serves on the board of the Open Technology Business Center. Rich was also appointed by the Governor to, and has served on, the Oregon Growth Account Board and the Oregon Innovation Council.
His rare blend of broad technological expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and public service has made him a guiding light in the Oregon high-tech community. Since 1995, EasyStreet has maintained technology leadership to better serve its steadily growing customer base. EasyStreet’s financial discipline has produced profitability in 14 of 17 years in business. EasyStreet now provides cloud technology to host many businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.
Rich has been and continues to be a huge asset for Oregon telecommunications.”
Said Bader about receiving the award, “This really is a great honor for me. In the 17 years that I’ve been involved, I have seen huge progress in the deployment and utilization of broadband service in the state of Oregon. Thank you to the community for working together to ensure public interests are well served.”
