Second quarter earnings fell for NetApp Inc. (Nasdaq: NTAP) to 30 cents per share from 44 cents per share in the year ago period but the results topped analyst estimates and the storage equipment maker announced plans to repurchase up to $1.5 billion worth of stock sending the stock price soaring $2.95 to $30.07.
