Mosaic Falls, But Rivals Largely Hold Their Ground
Mosaic (MOS) shares fell Wednesday after the fertilizer company cut its production out due to price pressure from China, but some rival agriculture companies were faring better at holding their ground. Mosaic now expects to ship 1.3 million to 1.4 million metric tons of potash, down from an earlier estimate of 1.6 million to 1.9 million metric ton. China is pushing to negotiate lower prices for potash, delaying the signing of long-term contracts.
