Deals for Good Launches New Website to Help Schools and Non-Profits Raise Needed Funds
PR Log - Nov 13, 2012 - San Jose, CA,  November 13, 2012 - Deals for Good debuts its website that offers an innovative way for charities to partner with businesses to raise the funds they need to do their good work. With a twist to the daily deal model, this San Jose company offers discounted deals from quality merchants, and then donates 25% of each purchase to a featured school or non-profit, helping these organizations raise much needed funds with minimal effort.

The Deals for Good business model was motivated by a desire to help local schools and non-profits raise the funds they need in a time of budget cuts and shrinking donations. Co-Founder Greg Davis explains this pivotal charity component. "The last five years have been devastating for schools and many non-profits. Schools in particular have seen their budget slashed and student spending cut, up to 23% in California alone. Even with measures like Proposition 30 in California, there is an urgent need to come up with creative ways to make up these shortfalls. Our model provides a great way to turn buying power into funding power for the good of our communities."

What sets Deals for Good apart from Groupon and other daily deal sites is the unique partnership joining merchants with charities. Merchants offer their products and services on the Deals for Good website at discounts of 50% or more. Each deal supports one featured school or non-profit organization, and 25% of every purchase is donated to this worthy cause. Deals for Good organizes and runs each promotion so that the charities and schools receive maximum benefit without expending their limited resources. "It couldn't have been easier," says Peggy Koskie, President of the Williams WIN Foundation that supports Williams School in San Jose, CA. "The promotion took almost no time on my part. It was literally free money for our school, and we used it to fund music, art and technology programs that wouldn't exist without our fundraising efforts."

Deals for Good plans to offer discounted deals on places to eat and things to do and support noteworthy organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the YMCA as well as local schools throughout the community.
