Stocks Open Tightly Mixed; Kors Rises On Earnings
Stocks opened in tightly mixed territory Tuesday, with earnings reports and company news propelling a large share of trade. The Nasdaq slipped 0.4%. The S&P 500 dipped 0.1% and the Dow was flat, caught between a rising Home Depot (HD) and Microsoft's (MSFT) 3% slide. Volume was uneven, up 20% on the Nasdaq and effectively flat on the NYSE compared with Monday morning's action. Home Depot gapped up to a 5% gain in massive trade to a new high. The
