More than 150 PG&E electric workers traveled to New York to help restore power to people impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The employees were drawn from across PG&E’s entire service area throughout California. It is believed to be PG&E’s biggest effort ever to aid another utility.
Hydro Ottawa was the key sponsor for this year’s Corporate and Community Social Responsibility Conference held in Ottawa. The annual CCSR conference is the country’s largest such event focused on the Canadian perspective. Hydro Ottawa’s generating stations on the Ottawa River are among a handful of Canadian green power facilities certified by the Federal government. The utility is also active in promoting conservation and energy demand management as well as educating children and youth about electricity safety and conservation.
