New online shop for Gen Y buyers on the cutting edge of cool
PR Log - Nov 03, 2012 - A trio of twenty-something Melbourne entrepreneurs has launched an online shop which is set to revolutionise the buying experience for Australians.
The www.ununcool.com.au site works by releasing one product only every Monday at midday. Each item is available for two weeks, or until sold out, to keep an edge on freshness.
“Our mission is to scour the globe for the latest, most amazing and innovative gadgets and gear – cool products that are otherwise not available to the Australian market,” says Stefan Gehrig, one of the founders.
“UnUncool will be the go-to-place in Australia for Gen Y early adopters, trendsetters and young professionals who seek out premium products that break new ground.”
The first two products to make the cut on the UnUncool site are a sleeping mask with low-intensity LED lights to stimulate controlled (or lucid) dreaming, and an eco-friendly aluminium honeycomb wine rack.
The unique start up was created by Stefan and close friends Sam Dean and Tom Shugg. They were excited by products they were seeing on overseas trips, but gobsmacked Australians were missing out. “Our intention is to offer a buying experience like no other. UnUncool users will be totally immersed and engaged with our constantly changing selection of innovative products,” Stefan said.
“Each item comes with a video explainer, and we only ever have two things offered at one time – for a short time – to cater to the short attention span of Generation Yers.”
Thousands of people have already signed up for UnUncool’s email product updates and become Facebook fans. Once purchased, products are shipped to customers from all corners of the planet.
“We’re thrilled with the huge response to UnUncool and have an amazing line up of products coming up which we can’t wait to share with the rest of Australia,” he said.
