Ford N. American Sales Offset Weakness In Europe
Problems in Europe were just a speed bump for Ford Motor (F), which drove record North American sales to strong third-quarter profits. The No. 2 U.S. automaker said adjusted earnings per share surged 18% to 40 cents, 10 cents over analysts' consensus estimates. Revenue slipped 3% to $32.1 billion, with sales down in South America and Europe. But the results beat analysts' forecast for $31.5 billion. In North America -- by far Ford's largest market
