MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) was down today falling .10% to 1 411.62 as of 2:30 p.m. EDT. Today’s big loser was Verisign (NASDAQ:VRSN) which fell 16.22% after a weak earnings report. Also down was Dean Foods (NYSE:DF) which fell 11.18% after a downgrade from Stiefel Nicolaus. On the other end of the spectrum Varian Medical Systems (NYSE:VAR) rose 15.63% after easily beating its earnings projections for the quarter.
