Newell Rubbermaid Up On Earnings Beat, Restructuring

The Sharpie and container maker Newell Rubbermaid (NWL) topped profit forecasts, but announced plans to cut 1,900 jobs over the next three years and other restructuring changes to slashes cost amid stagnant sales. The consumer products giant reported third-quarter earnings rose 4% from a year ago to 47 cents per share, excluding restructuring charges and other one-time items.
