Weyerhaeuser Earnings Jump Amid Housing Recovery

Weyerhaeuser's (WY) hefty third-quarter earnings gain attests to the rising strength of the housing recovery. The maker of wood building products earned 22 cents per share, an 83% jump from the same quarter a year ago, and four cents above Wall Street's outlook. Revenue advanced 13% to $1.77 billion, lighter than the $1.8 billion analysts were looking for. The company raised its cash dividend 13%, to 17 cents per share from 15 cents last quarter.
