PG&E has been ranked fourth among U.S. utilities for corporate responsibility by CR magazine in its Industry Sector Best Corporate Citizens list. The national publication also ranked PG& E 38th among all U.S companies in its “100 Best Corporate Citizens” list.
Kesko, a Finnish grocery chain, has been awarded the highest score in the Consumer Staples sector in the Nordic Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index. The company was cited for its energy savings, waste recycling, and consumer information. Kesko was included for the second consecutive time in the index of the best 26 Nordic companies.
Solazyme, a renewable oils specialist, has filed a patent application for biomass-based oil field chemicals to commercialize its carbohydrate-to oil-technology. The biotechnology company’s first-of-its-kind platform allows for the production of customizable oils that are capable of replacing sources derived from petroleum, vegetables, and animal fats.
