America's ten million cancer survivors and Christian McEvoy's 3,500 mile coast to coast run to raise funds and awareness of their needs will be the focus of a charity luncheon to be held on Friday, September 8, 2006 at Maggiano's Restaurant on 16th Street in Denver, Colorado. McEvoy will be the guest of honor at the event, which is sponsored by John S. Herold, Inc., Execution LLC, Whiting Petroleum, PRB Gas Transportation, Bear Cub Energy, Laramie Energy, Meagher Oil & Gas Properties, and Petrie Parkman.
Christian McEvoy started his run in San Francisco, California on July 1, 2006 and hopes to complete it at Narragansett, Rhode Island in December 2006. His goal is to raise $1 million for cancer survivorship, which is the experience of living with, through, and beyond the diagnosis of cancer. Currently, more than 10 million Americans are part of the survivor community. The mission of McEvoy and his Coast to Coast organization is to make the public aware of the fact that for many, cancer is now a long-term, chronic illness and funds are needed to support research and treatment programs that support cancer survivors and their families.
McEvoy will be running through Denver suburbs on Saturday, September 9, raising money with high school students. Anyone interested in running with him or pledging money can obtain information on his web site, www.coasttocoastrun.org.
James Volker, President and CEO of Whiting Petroleum Corp., will provide welcoming remarks for the luncheon. David Harris, Senior Consultant at John S. Herold, Inc., will provide review of industry market trends to executives from the energy firms that are sponsoring the event. John S. Herold, Inc., an oil and gas research and consulting firm, and Execution LLC, a full service agency broker, are national sponsors of Coast to Coast.
