Capital One Earnings Beat Estimates; Business Loan Demand Cools

Capital One Financial (COF) surprised Wall Street, posting a stronger-than-expected third-quarter profit hike and revenue. The credit card company and banking service firm reported after the market closed Thursday that Q3 earnings per share climbed 14% to $2.01, trouncing analyst estimates by 35 cents a share. Revenue surged 39% to $5.78 billion. Analysts were expecting $5.64 billion. Analysts weren't looking for a strong beat after its EPS crashed
