Chris Nye endorses Ken Grassi for Pierce County Council Position 4
PR Log - Oct 15, 2012 - “Ken Grassi receives overwhelming support from State Auditor Brian Sonntag (Democrat) and Fircrest Mayor David Viafore”
The Campaign to elect Ken Grassi for Pierce County Council announced today that Chris Nye, a competitor for the same position has now endorsed Ken Grassi.
Both Grassi and Nye believe that people have grown weary of partisan politics that often puts politicians first instead of the people they represent. People want to see local, state and federal government representatives working together and find solutions that will help business owners.
“I support Ken Grassi for Pierce County Council because Ken will look out for the small businesses in Pierce County. As a small business owner himself and Mayor of University Place, Ken has the expertise and knowledge of how regulations and taxes are putting a burden on innovation and job creation. Ken is an experienced leader who is passionate about family and community. Pierce County needs Ken Grassi,” said Chris Nye.
“I am so thrilled to receive Chris Nye’s endorsement,” said Ken Grassi. We have both served on the University Place City Council. Chris is a member of the University Place Economic Development Commission and Traffic Impact Fee ad hoc committee. This committee is finding ways to help businesses and as the current Mayor of University Place, I support this committee.”
Washington State Auditor Brian Sonntag said, “I've known Ken both as a City Leader and Personal friend for nearly 20 years. He is committed, trustworthy, and passionate about serving people. Pierce County would be served well with him as an addition to the County Council.”
David Viafore added, “As the Mayor of the City of Fircrest, I am impressed with Ken's ability to work across party and city lines and his genuine concern for people. He is approachable and regardless of how busy, always finds time to return calls. I am confident in knowing that Fircrest would be well served with Ken on the Pierce County Council.”
Ken Grassi is excited about the bi-partisan support from Democrats and Republicans.
Perhaps you have seen the signs in the storefront windows in downtown Tacoma where small business owners are saying, “I Support Ken Grassi because he supports small businesses,” this speaks to where Ken Grassi stands on business. Ken’s top 3 priorities for Tacoma are:
1. Keeping People Safe (Safety) 2. Getting People back to work (Economic Development) 3. Get people moving (Transportation)
