Stocks drifted this afternoon, closing little changed as investors took in the latest earnings and economic numbers at the end of a lackluster week on Wall Street. All three major indexes logged their biggest weekly drop since the first week of June. Bank stocks were under pressure with heavyweights in the industry posted earnings which failed to impress.
