Stock Futures Point to Slow Start with FedEx (FDX) and Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD) are on the move

First look... Stock futures point to a slow start as worries about Europe and the global economy keep investors sidelined. Investors will be watching for signals on the state of the economy today. Second-quarter data on the nation's current account balance, due from the Commerce Department before the open will be followed by a Treasury Department report on the most recent foreign purchases of Treasuries in July. Also on tap is a monthly report on builder confidence from the National Association of Home Builders, which will be released after the open and is expected to come in at 38, up from 37 last month.
