FirstMerit To Acquire Citizens Republic

FirstMerit Corp. (Nasdaq: FMER) will acquire Citizens Republic Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: CRBC) in a stock transaction valued at approximately $912 million. Shares of FirstMerit dropped $1.75 to $15.41 while Citizens Republic stock rose 41 cents to $20.28.
