Plain Exploration To Acquire BP Assets

Plain Exploration & Production Co. (NYSE: PXP) will pay approximately $5.55 billion to acquire Gulf of Mexico assets from BP (NYSE: BP). Shares of Plain Exploration plummeted $3.82 to $36.51 while BP stock edged up 19 cents to $42.12.
