Mixed Close Ahead Of ECB Meeting
The markets closed mixed with the Dow adding 11 points to 13,047 while Nasdaq lost 5 points to 3069 ahead of a European Central Bank meeting tomorrow.
On the upside
KeyBanc analyst Edward Yruma upgraded Bon-Ton Stores (Nasdaq: BONT) to a Buy rating after chief executive Brendan Hoffman detailed turn around plans.
US Airways Group (NYSE: LCC) reported a 1% increase in August passenger revenue per available seat mile.
Speculation that Monster Worldwide (NYSE: MWW) may be acquired lifted shares of the employment solutions firm.
On the downside
Six holders of Digital Domain Media Group (NYSE: DDMG) senior secured convertible notes agreed to forbearance. LeapFrog (NYSE: LF) introduced a new line of interactive Touch Magic toys for preschoolers.
Teekay LNG Partners (NYSE: TGP) priced its follow-on public offering of 4.6 million common units at the discounted price of $38.43 per unit.
In the broad market, declining issues outpaced advancers by a margin of nearly 10 to 9 on the NYSE and by nearly 9 to 7 on Nasdaq. The Russell 2000 which tracks small cap stocks eased a fraction to 821.
