Barnes & Noble Launches Election 2012 Book Collection Campaign

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, today announced a new book collection campaign called “Election 2012 – Read Then Decide” (BN.com/election2012). The “Election 2012 – Read Then Decide” website features print and eBook collections, selected by the company’s expert booksellers, on the candidates, timely election themes and topics, as well as top titles from pundits and politicos and a special section that recommends additional reads for in-depth analysis of key election issues.

Additionally, every day until Election Day, November 6, Barnes & Noble will offer a “Daily Find” featuring a timely, election-themed NOOK Book at a deep discount. Barnes & Noble’s first offer for the program is What You Should Know About Politics...But Don't by Jessamyn Conrad, available today for the specialty price of $3.99.

Customers can join in on the election conversation on Barnes & Noble’s new Twitter channel @NOOKpolitics. The company’s expert booksellers will keep you up to date on breaking election news and related books. Using the hashtag #readthendecide, customers can interact, making @NOOKpolitics a forum for issue-based conversations and breaking election news, as well the best place to find election-based reads regardless of political affiliation.

“Having all available information at your fingertips before a decision is made on any subject is vitally important—and Barnes & Noble is excited to offer the country our literary expertise on all themes surrounding the election,” said Jim Hilt, Vice President of eBooks at Barnes & Noble. “Suggested reads and collections will be substantive, engaging, yet scrupulously balanced about any political or ideological issue, and we’re confident our customers will find these resources to be helpful, informative - and even fun.”

In all Barnes & Noble stores nationwide, a selection of titles from the “Read Then Decide” collection will be prominently displayed under the heading of Election 2012.
