Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) is temporarily waiving all remittance transfer fees for ExpressSend® transfers from a linked checking or savings account for customers sending money using the ExpressSend service to friends and family in the Philippines impacted by the floods. The fee waiver is effective August 15th-30th, 2012.
Wells Fargo is also donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts.
“Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by the floods,” said Daniel Ayala, head of Wells Fargo's Global Remittance Services Group. “We’re working closely with our remittance network members in the Philippines to help our customers support their families and friends as they begin the recovery process.”
ExpressSend customers can send up to $3,000 a day for $4 if originated from a Preferred, Complete Advantage, or Premium Membership Checking. For standard tiered pricing, customers sending less than $100 would only pay $4 to send money to the Philippines. Wells Fargo remittance network members include Bank of the Philippine Islands, Banco de Oro, Metrobank, M. Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier. Recipients can claim their funds at more than 6,400 locations throughout the Philippines.
