WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 07/10/12 -- Townhall.com and HotAir.com General Manager Jonathan Garthwaite announced today that renowned writer and conservative media personality Mary Katharine Ham has joined HotAir.com as Editor-at-Large.
Mary Katharine Ham -- a FoxNews contributor -- has been a mainstay in the conservative movement for several years. From 2005 through 2008 she was a columnist and the managing editor of Townhall.com where she pioneered videoblogging with her award-winning series, HamNation. She has since written for the Weekly Standard blog and served as the online editor of The Washington Examiner. She also did a tour of duty at the Heritage Foundation early in her career. Prior to signing with HotAir.com, Ham co-hosted a morning-drive talk show in Washington, DC and was a featured writer for The Daily Caller.
"We are so excited to bring Mary Katharine Ham on board. She's one of the sharpest writers in conservative political media and a tremendous talent to have at HotAir," said Garthwaite. "She joins the best conservative writing team of Allahpundit and Ed Morrissey who serve as editors of the site along with Associate Editor Erika Johnsen and Weekend Editor Jazz Shaw. Mary Katharine brings a unique perspective, investigative reporting talent, and a keen eye for hot button issues of the day."
"I am excited to be joining Ed, AllahPundit, and the rest of the crew at HotAir.com," said Mary Katharine Ham. "HotAir has been a conservative leader in news and commentary and a favorite daily read of mine for years. I'm looking forward to being part of it!"
Mary Katharine Ham will publish news analysis and commentary on HotAir.com and continue her role as a contributing editor to Townhall Magazine. She will also serve as a spokesperson for the blog on media outlets. She will begin on July 10, 2012.
"2012 is a critical year for conservatives and the combination of the HotAir.com platform and Mary Katharine's talents are a perfect match," concluded Garthwaite.
