Bluegreen Vacations, a leading provider of Colorful Places to Play, is proud to announce its Myrtle Beach resort Shore Crest Vacation Villas(TM) I & II hosted Homerun for Autism, a free baseball camp for children with Autism, Saturday, May 12, 2012. The event was organized by a Bluegreen Associate at Shore Crest Vacation Villas, and enlisted the help of local Class A Baseball Team, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
During the afternoon, between 20-25 participants, aged between seven and 25, were able to try a variety of baseball skills while interacting with other children and the Pelicans players. The participants also toured the stadium and enjoyed the opportunity to get player autographs and photos with the teammates. All participants received a Swag Bag after their afternoon, which included a Homerun with Autism T-shirt, two tickets to any regular season Pelicans game and other goodies.
All Bluegreen Myrtle Beach properties worked together through fundraisers and resort activities to raise funds for the Swag Bags and other necessary materials.
"I am honored to watch Home Run for Autism come to life," explains Jackie Costa, Activities Manager at Shore Crest Vacation Villas and force behind the campaign. "I would like to thank everyone at Shore Crest and our surrounding Bluegreen who helped make this event happen, as it was a great opportunity for everyone involved."
