NEW YORK, May 2, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AlixPartners LLP, the global business-advisory firm, today announced that operations and strategy veteran Ron Scalzo has joined the firm as a managing director in its Enterprise Improvement unit. Scalzo, who will be based in New York, has more than 25 years of experience managing large-scale transformation programs at several blue-chip consulting firms in industries including consumer products, manufacturing, telecommunications, and transportation & logistics.
"AlixPartners is pleased to welcome Ron Scalzo, an expert with deep and broad-based experience in a number of industries, to our ranks," said Peter Fitzsimmons, AlixPartners' president of the Americas. "His distinguished track record of achieving high-impact, measurable results for clients fits in perfectly with what AlixPartners is all about, and it's also the kind of background that ambitious companies and owners are looking for in these still-uncertain times economically."
Scalzo joins AlixPartners from Protiviti Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Half International Inc., where he was a managing director and leader of that firm's global supply chain practice. At Protiviti, he built the firm's supply chain advisory practice by serving clients in the areas of business strategy and operations improvement across a variety of industries.
Prior to Protiviti, Scalzo was an executive partner at Accenture in that firm's global supply chain practice, where he was managing consulting lead for Accenture's products industry group, which included consumer products, retail, healthcare/pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment, and transportation & travel.
Before that, Scalzo worked for Huron Consulting Group Inc., where he was a managing director in that firm's performance improvement consulting group. He also spent 12 years with A.T. Kearney Inc., most recently as vice president and transportation practice leader for the Americas.
Scalzo began his career at Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young), where he was a senior consultant and manager in that firm's national transportation & logistics practice.
He has a bachelor's of science degree in management information systems and decision sciences from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.
