SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Company, Inc. Elects Joseph Mancino to Board of Directors Chairman and Evelyn Murphy to Vice Chairman

NEW YORK, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Company, Inc., a financial services company dedicated to building long-term relationships with its customers and empowering them through financial education, today announced changes to its Board of Directors.

Joseph Mancino, retired president and CEO of The Roslyn Savings Bank, was elected to chairman of SBLI USA's Board of Directors. Evelyn Murphy, president of The WAGE Project, Inc., a national organization dedicated to eliminating wage discrimination against women, was elected to vice chairman. As chairman and vice chairman, they will work with the Board and SBLI USA senior management to develop company strategy and provide oversight and corporate governance to protect policyholders' interests.

Mancino has served on the SBLI USA Board as a director and vice chairman since 1999. He began his banking career in 1960 with Roslyn Savings Bank and retired as president and CEO in 2005. Additionally, Mancino is a member of the Board of Directors of Helen Keller Services for the Blind, the Theodore Roosevelt Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Abilities, Winthrop University Hospital, and the Interfaith Nutrition Network. He is past president of the Board of both the Theodore Roosevelt Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Interfaith Nutrition Network.

A Ph.D. economist and a long-time leader in business and government, Evelyn Murphy has spent her professional career applying her doctorate to social issues and public policy, particularly to health care, women's issues, economic development and the environment. In 1986, Evelyn was elected Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, the first woman elected to statewide public office in that state. She also served as the Secretary of Economic Affairs and Secretary of Environmental Affairs for Massachusetts.
