Is The Huffington Post Accurate In Describing Grassroots Americans As Anti-intellectual?
PR Log - Feb 28, 2012 - Huffington Post writer Robert Reich, a professor at U of C Berkeley, recently published an opinion piece titled, "As Santorum and Romney Battle for the Loony Right."
He described Republicans in a most telling back-handed series a complimentary descriptors:
A party of anti-intellectual birthers, creationists, theocrats, climate-change deniers, gay-bashers, and anti-abortionists.
Well, it's high time 'anti-intellectual' grassroots Americans get off the defensive and actually embrace these charges as a badge of honor:
BIRTHERS: Clearly Obama's birth certificate is a fraud since it was made with multi-layers in Adobe software that wasn't invented yet when Obama was born. Remember, waaaaaay back before ‘intellectual’ global warming fear monger Al Gore 'invented' the Internet?
CREATIONISTS: Simply taking Yahweh God at his Word.
THEOCRATS: Choosing the law of the 10 Commandments vs. lawlessness and God-lessness. Nothing wrong with this picture.
CLIMATE CHANGE DENIERS: The real 'climate change' deniers are the Global Warming advocates who once said the world was warming before they said the world was cooling before they split the difference and embraced 'change' with Obama and weather. This accusation is a badge of honor and sanity.
GAY BASHERS AND ANTI-ABORTIONISTS: Oh, wouldn't it be a wonderful world if everyone were gay and pro-abortion. No one else would ever be born and planet earth would be a garden paradise except no humans to enjoy it, overrun with weeds.
ANTI-INTELLECTUAL: No, just common sense. Not so open minded that our brains are falling out supporting spotted owls over humans and refusing to drill oil in the barren regions of
Alaska to get American energy independent once again. What part of any of this sound logic is anti-intellectual?
