BP plc (NYSE:BP) has decided to donate $1 million to the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA).
According to an announcement made by exploration unit of BP plc (NYSE:BP) in Alaska, it will donate $1 million to the University of Alaska Anchorage to help create a lab to study the effects of corrosion on pipe metals.
BP plc (NYSE:BP) Alaska president John Minge said, “It’s an investment in the future and it’s an investment that we believe will pay out over time. It’s the company’s goal to help raise a generation of engineers who’ll stick around and help fix some of the structural problems which have plagued older pipelines on the North Slope.”
BP plc (NYSE:BP) stocks were at 46.87 at the end of the last day’s trading. There’s been a 6.2% change in the stock price over the past 3 months.
