Goolam serves as a Parts Distribution Centre Operations Manager with Volvo Southern Africa, where he is responsible first and foremost for the management and development of all Parts Distribution Centre activities, ensuring the profitability and efficiency of the operation. He is also responsible for ensuring various business planning and development initiatives; strategic planning, business growth, SHERQ, personnel management and general management of this site.
Goolam is an accomplished leader with 24 years of supply chain and logistics management experience within the following business sectors: operations management, logistics management inclusive of procurement and purchasing, customer support, inventory management, production planning and control, warehousing and distribution, business management and development, strategy and planning, leadership, as well as coaching and mentoring.
He is a commercially aware intellectual with a sound understanding of what drives a successful business, predominantly focused on achieving the desired results within any business environment.
During his collegiate career, Mr. Rassool earned a Diploma in each of the following: Strategic Logistics Management, Materials Management and Industrial Relations and Certificates in Principles of Production and Inventory Management; Advanced Master Planning; Internal Auditing; Freight Management; Business Management; SHEQ Management and Change Management. Additionally, Mr. Rassool is a member of various local and international bodies in order to share ideas and remain abreast of all new developments within the field of Logistics and Operations Management.
