COTE SAINT LUC, QUEBEC, CANADA, January 23, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who/ — Stanford Who’s Who welcomes Lucy Ravinsky-Milo to the ranks of professional individuals as a result of her work in the field of music management. As Manager and Executive Director of the Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra as well as throughout her entire professional career, Lucy has permanently demonstrated the dedication, commitment, and skill necessary to be considered among the best.
The Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra (MWSO) was established in 2006 and is the only orchestra of its kind in the world. It is made of 55 musicians but 80% of them are professional musicians who have recently immigrated to Montreal. MWSO is deeply engaged in providing immigrant musicians with the opportunity to dedicate their time to their passion as well as to help them establish their professional dignity. Until now, MWSO has entertained the Montreal audience with more than 30 performances and produced several recordings. Due to their uniqueness, MWSO has been selected as a subject of four documentary films.
Through her position Lucy is responsible for the vision, strategic planning and development of the Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra. She manages the activities of the orchestra, prepares concerts, and oversees all operations. She is also the author of “Breaking the Silence”, a book which she has written about her family and bereavement.
With a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Concordia University supported by experience in managing McGill Chamber Orchestra, Lucy ventured on the road of entrepreneurship joining her husband, a conductor, in his mission to create a new type of symphony orchestra. In addition, Lucy is a certified real estate agent, member of the Chamber of Commerce of Montreal, and owner of Xclusifrog.
