ST. PETERSBURG, FL,   December 14, 2011 /Stanford Who’s Who/ — William S. Correira has earned the recognition of Stanford Who’s Who as a result of his exceptional effort in the arts. As Owner of Gallery Woo, as well as throughout his brilliant professional career, Mr. Correira has consistently demonstrated the passion, vision, creativity and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

William is an extraordinarily talented graphic artist who was influenced and encouraged at an early age by his father, a well-known scrimshaw artist whose work was recognized throughout Hawaii, Nantucket and Maine. He creates his beautiful figure studies and marine life pieces using mixed medium on granite and marble. Mr. Correira has an incredible ability to join the natural beauty of the subject with the given nature of the stone to create a work of art that reflects both its strength and vulnerability.

Mr. Correira’s work has been featured in several magazine and newspaper articles including Tampa Bay Magazine (Sept./Oct. 2010), St. Petersburg Times (July 11, 2010), duPont Registry (Mar./Apr. 2009), Sports Illustrated (Jul. 27, 2009), and Housetrends Tampa Bay (Aug. 2008).  He is also an avid supporter of environmental causes in the St. Petersburg area through the donation of numerous pieces of his work to assist in fundraising efforts.
