OMVS Targets Billion-Dollar Educational Apps Market as Tablets Revolutionize Classrooms

On the Move Systems Corp. (OTCBB:OMVS), an emerging mobile applications developer, announced today that the company is planning new educational apps designed for children as schools begin trading textbooks in for iPads.

Market analysts Piper Jaffray reported the results of a survey of educational technology directors at a conference on the integration of technology in the classroom earlier this week. The poll found that each of the respondents were utilizing Apple’s iPad tablet in schools. Within five years, the poll concluded, the educators expect to have more tablets per student than computers.

“For the next generation of students, the backpack could be obsolete,” said OMVS CEO Patrick Brown. “Tablet computers like the iPad are replacing textbooks and changing the way children learn inside the classroom and out. The growing demand for educational apps for tablets and smartphones represents an incredible market opportunity for OMVS developers.”

With its sleek 1.3-pound design and innovative touchscreen interface, the iPad’s potential as an educational tool is becoming clearer every day. At Apple’s last media event, CEO Tim Cook said that nearly 1,000 K-12 schools in the U.S. have an iPad one-to-one deployment program, meaning that they’re aiming to provide an iPad for each child to use during the school day.

“We expect that this trend of putting tablets in the hands of every school child is going to spread like wildfire when educators see the results,” Brown said. “Each of those millions of tablets in the classroom is going to require specially designed learning applications to fulfill their potential. OMVS has already begun work on developing the next generation of apps that we believe will revolutionize education in the U.S. and beyond.”

OMVS is perfecting innovative new mobile application technology to compete in an industry that includes Vringo, Inc. (AMEX: VRNG), Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: GLUU), Rovi Corporation (NASDAQ: ROVI) and Vocus, Inc. (NASDAQ: VOCS).
