Home Depot’s Staten Island store is scheduled to host a breast cancer awareness event.

Home Depot (NYSE:HD) has announced that its Staten Island store is hosting breast cancer awareness event.

Several activities are planned by the store for the event including a nurse who will speak about breast cancer awareness and the importance of screenings, and literature on different aspects of breast health.

Maira Pastor, department head of specialty services at the Home Depot (NYSE:HD)’s Staten Island store, said that, “Home Depot (NYSE:HD) is responding to community needs. A number of women in the low-income neighbourhood have spoken to us about their lack of insurance and many don’t do breast self exams or go for mammograms, which can help them catch breast cancer at an earlier stage”.
